Bradley targets September southern area title shot

Bradley has pencilled in a September title showdown against southern area welterweight champion Chas Symonds.

Skeete was in outstanding form at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, dispatching Ross Payne via knockout after just 117 seconds.

Now, the Penge boxer wants to claim his maiden title in just a ninth pro outing.

“Frank Warren (Skeete‘s promoter) spoke to me after my win and said he was impressed with how relaxed I was, how I was taking my time,” Skeete told LincBoxing.

“I’ve had a few good wins recently, fighting on BoxNation, and it looks like I will be calling it a day for fights over the summer.

“I’ll be in the gym and sparring, and maybe I’ll take a little bit of a rest – this was a long camp because the first fight card was cancelled – but I won’t take much. I’ll come back and fighting for a title will be perfect.

“Against Payne, I wasn’t looking for the knockout, but I was patient and I used my speed. After that, it was ‘goodnight’ for my opponent.

“I am glad I got him out of there, because a lot of people will notice me now. It was a good win – just what I needed.”
